HealthCare Pain & Rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary pain referral center that offers a unique approach to the management of complex pain syndromes and diagnoses. Having on staff two Board Certified Specialists of differing, yet complementary fields (Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) gives us the unique advantage of providing a comprehensive pain care program that goes beyond the traditional "interventional" approach. Our philosophy, as endorsed by the American Board of Pain Medicine, employs the multi-paradigm approach to pain management:

The result - a higher succes rate in alleviating and in treating many complex pain issues.

Initial assessment is obtained from the patient through a specialized pain directed history and physical examination. All evaluations include the assessment of Biomechanical and Functional issues contributing to pain. Behavioral issues inherent to the pain problem are also identified. A diagnosis is then made and multimodality treatments directed to alleviate or to cure the pain problem are initiated, and may include, in combination, use of the following:

Pain Medications:
Use of anti-inflammatories, antispasmodics, narcotics, pain adjuvants, etc.

Rehabilitation & Physical Therapy:
Prescriptions for joint mobilization, therapeutic exercise, pain modalities, manual medicine, muscle re-education

Behavioral Modification:
Appropriate referrals for biofeedback and stress reduction training

Office-based Procedures:
Joint injections, trigger point injections, nerve blocks, Botox inj., acupuncture
